There's a cost for inspiration, but there's a greater cost for a lack of inspiration. We believe a creative culture actually starts at home, with us. Whether as individuals or as a team, we intentionally set aside a generous budget to foster enriching experiences. Sometimes that may look like a trip to the MOMA, Storm King, technical conference, or even going to a protest or rave… then again, sometimes that might just be taking a mental health day or signing up for a class. We take this very seriously and encourage you to do the same.
Eternal believes that building incredible product experiences is only possible with a high caliber of design. This is how we organize the company, and this is how our community interacts with us.
Eternal believes the only way we will be able to do our best work is if all of us have a sound sense of who we are individually. Know your strengths, weaknesses, loves, hates, etc. When you know yourself, how you work, how you express, you can intentionally direct your energy more effectively.
This demands we communicate with each other early and often. Whether through writing documentation, making a loom, building a deck, or having code review- we’re trusted to document our work regardless of role or title. The process of creating thoughtful communication will help us internalize the validity of the work itself. Document your reasoning, how you feel, what the user is supposed to feel… this gives you the space to think clearly and therefore more comprehensively.
